Product Description

This is a special edition Maestro Sea Shell fountain pen, featuring a German-made, medium-point solid gold nib with an iridium point.
Each pen is individually numbered in a limited edition production. Fittings are 18-karat gold-plated. This peb has a screw-on cap.

The overall design concept of these pens utilizes the Art Nouveau style and follows the natural colors and shapes of the sea shell material. A technique for applying the sea shell mosaic on the body of the pen was uniquely developed. Imagine holding an object polished to perfection and made of precious, glowing, iridescent natural sea shell that shimmers in the light as it moves. What would be the point, if not to be used though? So, to protect the finish, layer upon layer of clear lacquer were manually applied and polished by hand. The sea shell panels range from green to black, along with red or blue overtones. No two pens are exactly alike.

Due to the slight difference in weight of each of the sea shell panels involved in the production of these pens, the weight of each pen will vary slightly. Sea shells are natural materials; therefore, some distinctions in the texture of these materials may occur. The round barrel is round and smooth. These distinctions and variations in texture are not defects, but rather natural attributes which add beauty and uniqueness to each of these pens.

  • Important Product Information

    • Avoid storing your fountain pen upside down (with the nib pointing down). You could damage your nib and cause ink to pool or leak in the cap. It is best to store your fountain pen with the nib pointing up or horizontally.
    • Note: It may take up to 5 minutes for ink to fully flow through to the nib from an ink cartridge. If the nib still isn't working after this time, gently squeeze the ink cartridge to encourage ink flow. If the seal on the cartridge will not puncture, you may need to use a new one.
    • Fountain pen nibs require periodic cleaning to ensure smooth flow of ink and prevent clogging. Inks with additives (lubricants, humectants, or micro-particles / shimmer) are NOT recommended for inexperienced fountain pen users. These additives leave residue that must be flushed from the nib / feeder frequently.
