Product Description

Each of these handmade fountain pens features an extra fine (0.3 mm) gold-plated stainless-steel nib, chrome-plated brass fittings, and hand-inlaid oceanic saltwater mother of pearl.
We use oceanic mother of pearl cut directly from the shell with a hardness of 4.5 on the Mohs scale—as hard as steel. The pen barrel is round, with a polished smooth finish. To showcase the natural hues and beauty of the precious organic material used, there is no clear coat applied to the pen barrel. The glossy appearance comes from the intensive level of hand-polishing each pen goes through.
This model is handmade in a limited-edition production. The final number of these unique pens will depend based on the availability of the oceanic pearl used to produce them; we only use specific high-quality grades and bright colors of nacre, which can be rare and hard to source.
While some makers produce pens with short-cut panels of mother of pearl, we at Xezo believe that the difficulty and cost it takes to use long-cut panels of oceanic white mother of pearl of this size and quality creates a stunning effect that is well worth all the work it involves.

  • Important Product Information

    • Avoid storing your fountain pen upside down (with the nib pointing down). You could damage your nib and cause ink to pool or leak in the cap. It is best to store your fountain pen with the nib pointing up or horizontally.
    • Our fine size nibs have a tolerance range due to the milling process. Therefore, upon customer request, we can select the equivalent of an extra fine nib (line width of ~0.3mm) from our fine nib stock, although the nib will be marked as “F” and not “EF”.
